Motta Roast (Egg roast) with Palappam.


     Egg dishes are found in most of our homes.We will make different types of dishes with eggs..and can eat at anytime..But in my home we will make egg curries for breakfast only.Here Im sharing my recipe to make egg roast and palappam..

Eggs - 2 ( hardboiled).
Onion - 1 ( thinly sliced)
Green chillies - 2
Ginger - 1 tsp
Garlic - 2 pods
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp.
Crushed dried red chilli pdr or normal chilli pdr) - 1 1/2 tsp or as rqd
Coriander powder - 2 tsp
Oil, Mustard seeds and dried red chillies for seasoning.
Few curry leaves and salt to taste.

How to make :

       Heat oil in a pan or kadai..Splutter mustard seeds, red chilles and few curry leaves.Add sliced onion,green chillies,ginger and garlic.Saute well till it gets brown in color.Make slits in the boiled egg with a knife.
     Mix all the curry powders in little water to make a paste.Add this paste to the pan and mix well with the sauted onion.Add water if needed.Boil well.When it starts to boil high add the eggs.Allow it to boil.When the gravy starts to thicken,mix to cover the eggs with masala.Heat the egg roast in low flame for 3-4 mins and slowly mix in between....Serve the egg roast with Appam,idiyappam or chappathis.

My recipe for palappam: 
Rice flour - 1 cup.
Coconut milk - 1 cup.
Yeast - 1 tsp.
Sugar - 3-4 tsp or as reqd.
Salt as rqd.


 Method. :
   Slightly fry the rice flour and keep it aside..Mix Yeast and 1 tsp sugar in 1 cup water and allow it to rice.In a pan add 1 tsp rice flour and heat it with 1/2 cup water till it becomes thick.Add this thick paste with the 1 cup rice flour and mix well.Then pour the yeast sugar mix to this and finally add the coconut milk.Mix well without leaving any lumps.Add sugar and salt if needed.Pour water to get the proper consistency.The batter should be watery than the Dosa batter.Keep the batter overnight.Next day Make appams using 'appachatti' or we can make appams using dosa thava..Serve hot palappams with egg roast..
