Spicy chicken Curry
Chicken - 1lb cut into pieces.
Onion - 1 large chopped and 1/4th of it keep it aside.( If the onion is small 2-3 is needed).
Tomato - 2.
Green chillies - 4 nos.
Ginger - 1 tbp.
Garlic - 5-6 pods.
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp.
Chilli powder - 2 1/2 tsp.
Coriander powder - 2 1/2 tsp.
Chicken masala - 1 tsp.
Coconut Flakes - 1 tbs ( optional)
Salt to taste.
Few curry leaves and coriander leaves
Ingredients to marinate chicken:
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp.
Chilli powder - 2 tsp.
Coriander powder - 2 tsp.
Chicken masala - 1 tsp.
Curd/ Yoghurt - 1 tbs.
Salt to taste.
Marinate chicken with all these ingredients and keep it in refrigerator for 30mn- 1 hr.
Method :
Boil the marinated chicken in pressure cooker with very little water till it get cooked.Then grind 3/4 of the onion,tomatos,green chillies,ginger and garlic together in a mixer.Heat oil in a pan or kadai,saute this grinded mix well for 10-15 mins..Stir continuously in medium flame till the mix start sticking.Add chilli powder,coriander powder,turmeric powder,chicken masala and salt to taste.Put few curry leaves to it and saute well for 2-3 mins.To this add the cooked chicken and mix.Keep this in low flame for 5-10 mns and stir in between.When the masala get mixed with the chicken switch off the flame.For garnishing,heat little oil in another pan fry the coconut flakes and add the 1/4 th of the onion we kept aside.Fry till brown.Put this granishing over the curry with few coriander leaves..Serve warm with Roti,Naan and rice varieties.
