Chemmenum mangayum ( Prawn and Mango curry)



Chemmenum Mangayum ( prawn and mango )curry is one of malayalees all time favourite dish..Its  yummy and easy dish to make..You can serve it with Rice...Here it goes my recipe!!

Prawns/Chemmeen - 1 cup.
Raw mango - 1 no.
Coconut - 1/2 cup.
Water as reqd to boil .
Shallots - 3-4.
Green chillies - 4nos.
Garlic - 2 pods.
Ginger chopped - 1/2 tsp.
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp.
Chilli powder - 1 1/2 tsp.
Coriander powder - 2 tsp.
Curry leaves and salt as reqd.
Oil,red chillies,mustard seeds for garnishing.
Method :
Boil prawns with cut raw mangoes in a pan or kadai with enough water..Put salt,turmeric powder,1/2 tsp chilli pwdr,1 tsp coriander powder and 2 green chillies..Grind shredded coconut with shallots,ginger,garlic,2 green chillies,chillli powder and coriander powder with little water to make a fine paste..When the prawn get cooked well..add this coconut mix to it and stir well..Keep it in low flame for 5-6 mins or till the gravy becomes thick..When it is done,Heat oil in a pan,splutter mustard seeds with curry leaves and dried red chillies and pour it over the curry and mix well...Serve with Rice!!!!
